I am quite sure that I was lacksadasical when performing rule #3.
With that being said-should I have my camera cleaned, should I blow it out with compressed air myself? Any suggestions?

Hey Jerry. Dont use compressed air. Google sensor cleaning and if you dont feel comfortable with doing it yourself, send it off to Canon.
